Leicester City - What are the odds on that?

Leicester City's amazing season is surely the story of the Premier League so far.

When Leicester parted company with manager Nigel Pearson in June, the club management appointed Claudio Ranieri as his successor to general bafflement all round. Ranieri, of course, was a man who had been sacked from his last 3 positions - managing the Greek national side, Monaco and Inter Milan - and hadn't managed in the Premier League since losing his job at Chelsea in 2004.

In truth, Leicester City were many pundits favourites for relegation this season, and Ranieri was tipped to be the first Premier League manager likely to get the sack. You could have actually got 5,000-1 for Leicester to win the Premiership before the season started. And, as the Daily Mirror has now reported, one Leicester fan punted £5 at 1,000-1 that the club would be top at Christmas. He is now £5000 better off!
