Arsenal star Lukas Podolski has provided some interesting and entertaining comments on speculation which linked him with German club FC Schalke last month.

Suggestions started appearing that Arsenal were considering using Podolski in part exchange for Julian Draxler, as they looked to push through a deal for one of Germany’s most talented attacking players.

However, it seems Arsene Wenger spoke with Podolski quickly to ease any worries the Gunner had over the rumours.

“That was a myth. There was absolutely no truth to it. The coach told me as such, and I knew there was no truth in it. Hashtag nonsense hashtag notruth hashtag dontbelievethepapers hashtag aha hashtag takeonme,” said the 28-year-old.

Fairly obvious he’s a frequent user of Twitter, Instagram and Facebook?

Podolski hasn’t produced his best form at Arsenal this season but that’s mainly down to the fact he’s been injured and is only just coming back into the side.

Wenger has engineered a productive Arsenal side this season, which is right in the hunt for the Premier League title so he has no need to make drastic changes to the eleven players who have so far served him well.

That doesn’t mean Podolski is surplus to requirements because he remains a very useful attacking star, who can inject experience into a midfield and attack at crucial points over the next few months leading into May.
