Chelsea are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table and Jose Mourinho’s men are in prime position to clinch the title come May, as long as they can keep up their current form and avoid any slip ups.
However, their squad is far from complete and in order to continue their progression under Mourinho they must invest in the Summer. They are without a doubt one of, if not the, best sides in England and with Manchester United slipping up this season they can establish themselves as the dominant force in the English game.
The problem surrounding Chelsea at the moment is the strikers at their disposal. Fernando Torres has never been firing on all cylinders in London like he used to at Liverpool, Samuel Eto’o isn’t getting any younger and can’t be relied on properly while Demba Ba is on his way out.
If the Premier League trophy doesn’t end up at Stamford Bridge in May then the lack of striking options will be the main reason why. Jose Mourinho stated in the January window that he would wait until Summer to purchase a ‘top striker’ but until he announces a deal there is room for concern.
Here’s five strikers that Chelsea should turn their attention to when the season closes.
