Rivaldo, 41, Played Alongside His Son Rivaldinho, 18, in Brazilian League

There was a bit of history made on Tuesday night in Brazil when national star Rivaldo, now 41, joined up with his son to represent Mogi Mirim against XV de Piracicaba in the Campeonato Paulista.

Rivaldinho is 18, but making his way in the game.

His father, a veteran of 74 Brazil caps and the World Cup-winning 2002 team, is now the president at Mogi Mirim.

Despite the range of achievements in the 41-year-old's career, he seemed particularly moved by the opportunity to spend just over half an hour on the pitch with his son.

He left an emotional message on Instagram, as translated by 101 Great Goals:

I want to thank God for this special day  in my life when I could play with my son @ _rivaldojr in an official game. The game ended 1-1, but this day is going to be history. Thank you my God for everything you did and do in my life.

Several sons of former Brazil greats are currently impressing in the professional ranks.

Aside from Rivaldinho, there is Bebeto's son Mattheus Oliveira, an under-20 Brazil international, while the two boys of Mazinho—Thiago and Rafinha—are on the books at Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively.
