Barcelona defender Dani Alves sent a strong message to some sections of the Barca faithful who have written off their chances to win the La Liga title.
The Brazilian told the media that there was no time to think about today’s 1-0 defeat at strugglers Real Valladolid with the Manchester City match in the Champions League coming up on Wednesday.
“We will fight as long as we still have a chance of winning the league,” Alves told the Spanish media post-match.
“Whoever does not have faith in us can jump off the boat.”
The full-back does not believe the loss rules his side out of the title race, despite the fact that Real Madrid can go four points clear if they beat Levante at the Santiago Bernabeu tomorrow.
“We don’t feel like we’ve lost the league. We got a very negative result for our ambitions but while we still have a chance we will keep fighting,” he added.
The 30-year old also touched on Wednesday’s last-16 second leg, adding: “Now we have a very tough game this coming Wednesday against Manchester City in which, if we fail, we will be eliminated.
