PSG to steal man who was minutes away from Liverpool deal – report

Liverpool were believed to have been minutes away from signing Ukrainian winger Yevhen Konoplyanka in the January transfer window, with a deal falling through in the last minutes.

The Dnipro attacker is widely expected to leave his homeland for one of the major European leagues this summer, with the likes of the Red and Tottenham consistently linked with a return for him in the off-season.

However, a menacing new suitor appears to have raised their hand for Konoplyanka’s signature, with Paris Saint-Germain today rumoured to be interested in the eastern European.

The Daily Mail suggest that the Ligue 1 leaders have entered the race to sign the star, who is valued in the region of £16 million.

PSG’s potential involvement will test Liverpool’s resolve, as the French side are sure to offer Konoplyanka a bumper deal to move to the Parc des Princes
