Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland could return after three matches out with a calf injury.
Defender Joe Mattock is back in training following a spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury and could play some part.
QPR goalkeeper Rob Green is out with cracked ribs and midfielders Armand Traore and Jermaine Jenas both have hamstring injuries.
On-loan West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison (groin) is a doubt.
Left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto could miss out again with the knock he suffered at Brighton last Tuesday while fellow full-back Danny Simpson (back), midfielder Alejandro Faurlin (knee), winger Matty Phillips (ankle) and strikers Charlie Austin (shoulder) and Andrew Johnson (ankle) remain on the sidelines.
