Rangers finished their league season by lifting the Youth League Section A trophy for the second season in a row.

LINFIELD Rangers finished their league season by lifting the Youth League Section A trophy for the second season in a row.

Linfield won the trophy with an impressive 52 points, winning 16 games, drawing four and only losing two.

They also scored 72 goals (averaging just over three a game) and only conceded 17.

Before lifting the trophy last night they finished off in style with a comprehensive 6-0 win over Donegal Celtic Youth at the Danny Blanchflower Playing Facility in East Belfast.

Manager John Bailie commented: "I'm very pleased for the boys to have retained the Youth League Section A Trophy.

"It's a great reward for all of the players who have worked so hard throughout the season, but the most pleasing thing for me is to see how much they have developed as footballers in the previous 9 months since we started the league campaign."

Rangers now look to complete league and cup double on Tuesday 20 May 2014 by retaining the Youth League Cup at Holm Park, Armagh against either Dungannon Swifts Youth or Cliftonville Strollers.
