There was some meaningful business conducted in January—notably Manchester United’s club-record acquisition of Juan Mata, Chelsea’s double-capture of Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah and Fulham’s surprise swoop for Greek marksman Konstantinos Mitroglou.
