Carroll: Still suspended

Striker Andy Carroll is already out of the equation ahead of this weekend's fixture, as he is still serving a suspension.

Meanwhile, Joey O'Brien is still battling with a shoulder injury, which has kept him out of the fray since January.

Ricardo Vaz Te, who sustained a hamstring injury towards the end of January, has given no indication that he will be fit to play in the foreseeable future.

Southampton, meanwhile, will be looking to cement their position in the top ten of the league standings and perhaps even push for a top-seven finish, ahead of Manchester United. A victory against West Ham will see Southampton move level on points with the Red Devils.

If they are to win, Southampton will have to do so without the services of defender Jos Hooiveld. The Dutchman suffered an eye injury in training on Wednesday and has been ruled out for the fixture at Upton Park.

However, Croatian central defender Dejan Lovren and Uruguay midfielder Gaston Ramirez are expected to feature in the action this weekend after rtecovering from respective ankle injuries.
