Neil Warnock turned down the chance to manage Nottingham Forest

The ex-QPR and Leeds boss was the frontrunner for the vacancy after Billy Davies was sacked yesterday in the wake of the 5-0 defeat against Derby at the weekend.

However, Warnock had second thoughts about the position and talks broke down with the club's owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi.

And the 65-year-old believes he turned down the position because he wouldn't have been able to manage the club in the way he would have liked.

"The talks started well but, in my eyes, it deteriorated," Warnock told . "In the end, I didn't think I was the right one.
