Tottenham: Ex-Gunner could replace Sherwood

Tottenham Hotspur are considering Lyon manager Remi Garde for the manager's position next season, [football] direct news understands.
The Spurs board are seemingly considering the future of current manager Tim Sherwood, who has endured some disappointing results of late and generally failed to lift the team since he replaced Andre Villas-Boas as head coach.
A number of big names have been linked with the post at White Hart Lane, and it could now be a former Arsenal midfielder that enters the frame as Garde becomes a leading contender to take control of the team in the summer.
The Frenchman, currently in charge of Ligue 1 side Lyon, spent three years at Arsenal as a player, though his arrival at the club was overshadowed by the performances of the younger and more consistent Patrick Vieira, who joined at the same time.
The 47-year-old has impressed in his short time in management, however, and had been tipped by some as an Arsenal manager of the future, though Spurs are now hoping to steal a march on other top clubs and offer him a position.
"It won't come as much of a surprise that Tim's position is not that secure," a club insider revealed. "The club are looking at alternatives and could make a change in the summer. My understanding is that Garde of Lyon is high on the list of contenders.
