Bayern Munich v Stuttgart Tips @ 1

There should be goodwill in the air When Bayern Munich welcome Stuttgart to close their triumphant Bundesliga campaign.

Stuttgart's top-flight status remained in the balance until last weekend, when they suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Wolfsburg.

Ultimately the result proved no great cause for concern as Bayern overcame Stuttgart's fellow strugglers Hamburg 4-1 to make Huub Stevens' side safe.

In any case, Stuttgart tend to be well-mannered hosts as far as Bayern are concerned - the Bavarian club have won the past 10 encounters in all competitions.

Bayern will be formally presented with the Bundesliga trophy after Saturday's game, six weeks on from securing the title.

Nevertheless, any feel-good factor around the Allianz Arena has all but disappeared during the interim period - largely thanks to Real Madrid's emphatic 5-0 aggregate UEFA Champions League semi-final victory that ended Bayern's defence of their European crown.

The manner of those losses has brought growing rumours of discontent regarding the methods of coach Pep Guardiola. For his part, the former Barca boss insists that he will stay faithful to the 'tiki-taka' style that he pioneered during four phenomenally successful years at Camp Nou, and captain Philipp Lahm launched a defence of his manager this week.

"With Pep Guardiola, we showed throughout two-thirds of the season that we could have our own style of play that is very effective, precise and dangerous in attack, and, yes, like Barcelona, have lots of possession of the ball," he told Sport Bild.

"And that's the style we're going to continue working on. (We have) controlled and beaten great teams like Manchester City, Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea."

On the field, Bayern will be without Jerome Boateng after the defender received a red card for an altercation with Hamburg's Kerem Demirbay, while Mario Mandzukic will look to become the Bundesliga's top scorer for 2013-14.

The Croatia international is locked on 18 goals with Borussia Dortmund forward and future team-mate Robert Lewandowski. The duo will square off in next weekend's DFB-Pokal final.

At the end of a disappointing campaign, Stevens might allow himself a wry smile when reflecting on the apparent internal strife at Bayern over a potential double-winning season.

Stuttgart began their plans for next term this week by securing the signing of Red Bull Salzburg right-back Florian Klein on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old Austria international has agreed a deal running until July 2017.

Blestemul finalurilor » Ghinion Andone!

Pohang Steelers FC VS Gyeongnam FC Tips @ 1

Goals and surprises galore in Asia

Surprise and drama highlighted Matchday 4, with favourites stumbling in unexpected fashion and strugglers bouncing back in style. Several former champions, along with holders Guangzhou Evergrande, dropped points. Under-performers like Esteghlal and Al Hilal, meanwhile, revived their fortunes by earning their first wins in the competiton. FIFA.com reviews these thrillers and the rest of the AFC Champions League in detail.

The match
Al Hilal 5-0 Al Sadd

Group D's top-versus-bottom clash ended in unexpected fashion, with hosts Al Hilal firing five unanswered goals past Al Sadd for the matchday's biggest win. The result, comined with a goalless draw between Al Ahli and Sepahan, saw the Saudis share second place with Al Sadd and trail group leaders Al Ahli by a mere point.

The two sides' fifth AFC Champions League meeting provided a perfect setting for Nassir Al Shamrani to shine. After seeing his side take a 2-0 lead courtesy of Yasser Al Qahtani's early spot-kick and a strike by Sultan Al Duayyi, the Al Hilal striking-ace headed home on 34 minutes to give his side a solid 3-0 first-half lead.

With Al Sadd pressing hard after the restart, Shamrani netted his second to crush the visitors' hopes of a fightback. The Saudi hot-shot went on to complete this campaign's first hat-trick four minutes later, with the match-winner leaving him atop the scoring chart alongside Al Ain’s Asamoah Gyan.

The surprise
Guizhou Renhe 3-1 Ulsan Hyundai

Chen Zijie struck a brace as Group H's Guizhou Renhe came from behind to dispatch Ulsan 3-1 at home for their first triumph in this edition of the competition. Although the Chinese side remain rooted at the bottom, Kawasaki Frontale's 2-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers means Guizhou are still able to advance.

Ulsan entered the rematch seeking revenge, having been held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg. The 2012 winners got off to the start they were looking for when Yoo Junsoo broke the deadlock just past the half-hour mark. However, the hosts responded quickly with Chen drawing level just four minutes later. After Chen’s side took the lead through veteran striker Qu Bo, the lively midfielder rounded off the comeback victory with a spectacular low drive.

The other attractions
Group A's Al Shabab moved within touching distance of a place in the Round of 16 with a 2-0 win at Al Rayyan, courtesy of Eysa Al Mahyani's early opener and Hassan Muath's stoppage-time strike. Striker Mohammad Ghazi scored the only goal in the group’s other contest as Esteghlal recorded their first victory at Al Jazira to stave off certain elimination.

In Group B, both El Jaish and Foolad moved on the verge of progression with respective home victories. The former needed two second-half strikes to down winless Al Fateh while the latter edged Bunyodkor 1-0. The Uzbek visitors, surprisingly, see their hopes in real danger for the first time in the competition’s history.

Al Ain maintained their place at the top of Group C despite a 2-2 draw at Tractor Sazi. Al Ittihad, meanwhile, bounced back to move into second place with a 3-1 victory against visiting Lekhwiya, Abdulfattah Asiri netting a double for the hosts.

2009 winners Pohang Steelers established a three-point gap in Group E after defeating hosts Shandong Luneng in a 4-2 goal-thriller. With the match all but over when the visitors were 4-0 up seven minutes from time, Du Wei's late header and Han Peng's stoppage-time strike were nothing more than consolations for Shandong. Cerezo Osaka, meanwhile, recovered from a first-half two-goal deficit to draw against Buriram United, moving level with Shandong on five points.

A 1-0 home win against Beijing Guoan lifted Central Coast Mariners to the top of Group F. Marcel Seip scored the only goal after Zhang Xizhe saw his spot-kick saved as the Australian hosts registered an unlikely win. Elsewhere, last year's runners-up FC Seoul required a stoppage-time penalty to secure a point against Sanfrecce Hiroshima at home in a 2-2 stalemates.

Leonardo beat the offside-trap to score a second-half goal as Jeonbuk Motors beat high-flying Guangzhou Evergrande 1-0 at home. Yokohama F. Marinos, for their part, defeated Melbourne Victory 3-2 at home to put their campaign back on track.

The Player
While four-time Saudi league top-scorer Nassir Al Shamrani dazzled spectators with his goals, his consistent performance throughout the 90 minutes impressed everyone in the stadium. The striker has continued to maintain his phenomenal goal-scoring form on both home and Asian fronts, though, topping the scoring-charts in the domestic competition and the Champions League.

The stat
4-Only four teams remain undefeated after Matchday 4, while a different four sides managed to maintain their places at the top their respective groups despite dropping points.

What they said
"Our performance wasn’t particularly bad, but we made some mistakes and I take responsibility for those. Once the Jeonbuk player was sent off, I told Kim Younggwon to move into midfield and that weakened our defence," Guangzhou Evergrande coach Marcello Lippi.

Matchday 4 results
1 & 2 April

Inter Milan vs Udinese Tips @ 1 / 3+

really should be used to this right now. You know, losing in the most excruciating way possible. It has happened more times than I care to remember and it still stings just as much as the first occasion.

We should be desensitized to last-second losses and self-inflicted calamities but it still hurts at the end of the day.

We did everything but win the game against Atalanta on Sunday. We hit the woodwork four times, heck we even hit the crossbar before hitting the post… before conceding the winner.

We can now officially say that Inter has been afflicted with some kind of hex or hoodoo by Atalanta. I can state confidently that the dark arts are intricately involved.

So instead of closing the gap on Fiorentina and/or Napoli the Nerazzurri find themselves in sixth place after dominating the last 45 minutes of the second half.

It's not the first time nor will it be the last that we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory unfortunately.

Up next is Udinese, which is one of our former bogey teams that we have managed to conquer recently.

Inter took care of business at the Stadio Fruili running out 3-0 winners earlier in the season and I for one would be ecstatic if the boys could duplicate that result once again.

THE VITALS

Date: Thursday, March 27

Time: 3:45 EST

Venue: Giuseppe Meazza

BATTLE DOSSIER

Inter Probable Formation: 3-5-2: Handanovic; Campagnaro, Rolando, Juan Jesus; Jonathan, Guarin, Cambiasso, Hernanes, D'Ambrosio; Palacio, Icardi

Udinese Probable Formation: 3-5-1-1: Scuffet; Heurtaux, Danilo, Domizzi, Widmer; Badu, Pinzi, Pereyra, Gabriel Silva; Fernandes; Di Natale

Operation Bananas and Blow: To recover from the psychological blow at the hands of Atalanta's shock troops and inflict defeat upon the Udine invaders who are banging at the Meazza's gates.

Enemy Of The State: Antonio Di Natale is a consummate professional on and off the field and a guy who I can comfortably root for in every round except two. He is a super nice guy who happens to double as a silent assassin on game day. He's very good at what he does and has been doing it a high level for quite some time now.

Fear Factor: 6: Udinese is as scary as the first time you get back on your bike after crashing it spectacularly on the final turn of the previous race. It's anybody's guess how it will go.

Medal Of Honor: Mauro Icardi scored Inter's only goal of the game on Sunday but he will be remembered most for his inexplicable miss in the dying moments. Here's hoping the kid shows some mental fortitude and bounces back with a top-drawer display.

If Inter Wins: I will enjoy an evening chat with my Belgium buddies Bernardus,  Hoegaarden and Duvel.

If Udinese Wins: Then Erick Thohir should take a long look at Francesco Guidolin if he decides to fire Walter Mazzarri in the summer.

Likely Outcome: The Nerazzurri played well last weekend, but missed too many chances and that ended up costing them dearly. That won't happen two matches in a row. The good guys squeak out a 2-1 victory.

Benfica held a minute's silence in honour of club legend Eusebio before going top Tips @ 1 - 2.30

Benfica minutes silence for Eusebio

Benfica held a minute's silence in honour of club legend Eusebio before going top of the Portuguese league with a win over title rivals Porto.
Rodrigo Moreno opened the scoring for Benfica before defender Ezequiel Garay doubled the advantage after the break.
Porto played the final 15 minutes with 10 men after Danilo was dismissed for a second yellow card.
Benfica's players all wore the name Eusebio on the back of their shirts, with their usual squad numbers.
The win moved Benfica top, with Sporting Lisbon two points behind and Porto a further point back.

Widely considered one of the best players of all time, Eusebio starred as Benfica won a host of domestic and European honours in his spell at the club between 1960 and 1975.
The 1965 European Footballer of the Year scored 733 times in a professional career spanning 745 matches. He also played 64 times for Portugal, scoring 41 goals.
His death was met with an outpouring of emotion in the country, with thousands of supporters gathering at Benfica's Estadio da Luz for a memorial service on Monday ahead of his funeral.

w've seen with our own two eyes the current unbeaten that Juventus, Tips @ 1

w've seen with our own two eyes the current unbeaten that Juventus is on. It was extended to 21 games over the weekend against Catania, the latest in so-so performances yet three-point takeaways. There is, however, another team in Italy putting together a pretty solid unbeaten run at the moment.

Who might that team be?

Well, it's Roberto Donadoni's Parma, who currently sit in fifth place with nine games to go in the 2013-14 campaign.

And who is Juventus playing tomorrow night in front of their Turin faithful?

Yeah, that same Parma team who hasn't lost a game since Juventus claimed a 1-0 win at the Tardini the first weekend of November. Since then, Parma hasn't been beaten, a span of 17 games that includes nine wins and eight draws. They've gone from hovering around the other mid-table squads to now in contention for a spot in the Europa League.

It's an impressive run no matter who. Come Wednesday night, though, it'll be Parma's biggest test in months.

The team Juventus has opened up the home schedule against the past two seasons is finally making its trip to Juventus Stadium. Both games, which ended in Juventus victories, were the start of something that ended in a title celebration months and months later. This time, Parma's visit to Juventus Stadium is at the end of March and one of the final games to go before Juventus officially clinches their third straight league title.

It's pretty easy to figure out: There's nine games left. Even fewer needed to clinch the title. Hey, it's the final countdown for a reason, folks.

Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino says he intends to see out his contract Tips @ 1

Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino

Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino says he intends to see out his contract, despite speculation that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
The 51-year-old took over last July after agreeing a two-year deal.
Barca were forced to deny reports  before Sunday's 4-3 win over Real Madrid that Martino had informed colleagues of his desire to leave.
"I always respect my contracts," Martino told a news conference ahead of Wednesday's home match with Celta Vigo.
Gerardo Martino factfile
1962: Born 20 November, Rosario, Argentina
Playing career: Record appearance holder with Newell's Old Boys (505 matches) and one cap for the Argentina national team plus spells in Spain, Ecuador and Chile before retiring in 1996
Early management career: Titles in Paraguay with Libertad and Cerro Porteno
Paraguay: Took over as manager of the national team in 2006 and steered them to the 2010 World Cup quarter-finals; quit after finishing runners-up to Uruguay in 2011 Copa America
Newell's Old Boys: Returned to manage his former club in 2012 and guided them to the Argentine Torneo final title in his first season
Barcelona: Becomes the fourth Argentine to manage the Catalan club after replacing Tito Vilanova
Barca return to the Nou Camp looking to build on their El Clasico triumph having breathed new life into their title challenge.
Victory at Real Madrid, who are joint level on points with Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga, means Martino's side are one point behind the top two.
That win keeps alive their hopes of winning a treble - Barca are still in the Champions League and will face Real in the Copa del Rey final on 16 April.
"It is important for us to be in the right frame of mind for this run-in to the end of the season," added Martino.
"We are still competing on all three fronts and finding our form, so it's all positive."
Celta Vigo, five points above the relegation zone, have not beaten Barca in the last seven top-flight meetings, a run stretching over 10 years.
Martino is urging his players not to waste their hard work at Real Madrid.
"We have to make the most of what we achieved at the weekend, because it has put us back in contention for the league title," he said.
Cristian Tello, who has started just one La Liga match this season, is added to the squad in place of Xavi.

Queretaro will look to continue their Liga MX resurgence against Tijuana on Friday Tips @ 1

Queretaro will look to continue their Liga MX resurgence against Tijuana on Friday after their breakthrough win last week.

Ignacio Ambriz's Queretaro side won 2-0 at Tigres UANL to end a five-game losing streak in the Mexican top flight and could have some more joy against Tijuana, who have not won away from home in 13 games in all competitions.

That run has included just four draws, so Queretaro should have plenty of confidence they can notch consecutive victories.

Brazilian midfielder Willian will be the key man for Ambriz, as the 27-year-old is Queretaro's leading scorer so far this season with four goals, including three in the club's last three Liga MX fixtures.

Willian scored the opening goal versus Tigres, while Christian Bermudez slotted the second.

Tijuana defeated Puebla 3-1 last week to move up to ninth position in the table with 17 points, while Queretaro (13 points) sit 15th.

League leaders Cruz Azul will look to bounce back from a scoreless draw at Leon last week when they host Atlas on Saturday.

The draw against Leon saw Cruz Azul register just their fourth point in three domestic matches; a stuttering streak for the capital club, who won eight games in a row earlier in the Clausura campaign.

Cruz Azul top the table with 29 points, four ahead of second-placed Toluca, who face Tigres.

Toluca failed to make inroads on Cruz Azul last week after suffering a 2-1 loss to Atlante but should be confident ahead of their clash with Tigres.

Since March 2005, Toluca have only lost once to the San Nicolas-based University club.

Third-placed Pachuca (20 points) will be favourites to win when they travel to bottom club Veracruz, while second-last Puebla will host Leon.

On Sunday, Guadalajara will host arch-rivals America in El Super Clasico; arguably the biggest game in Mexican club football.

The two teams will enter the match on 17 points each with America (seventh) ahead of Guadalajara (eighth) on goal difference.

America have not won in three games in all competitions, while Guadalajara have not lost in the same period.

In other fixtures, Atlante will travel to Monterrey, while Chiapas will host Morelia and Santos Laguna are set to face Pumas UNAM.

BENFICA - ACADEMICA Tips @ 1

Benfica

The red hot lead 42 straight games without losing in the Light , in a period of great glow, which allowed them to finish the previous day with the best attack , the best defense and a leading seven points difference for the runner . Still, the Light worried on Thursday . The game with Tottenham will have to serve notice on the team embodied that any devolution can be fatal in a match where coach Jorge Jesus meets his friend Sergio Conceicao , who guided the students when the coach was a player

academic

Students seeking yearned point 30 championship . Has long been defined as a goal, to stay safe from any surprise that the struggle for permanence may hold. The Students are unbeaten in five games and was almost grain by grain that rested in the league . These five , only one won . And attention , conceded just one goal .

speech

The Benfica coach Jorge Jesus: " Sometimes the games seem easier are the hardest , the league is competitive , teams know each other well and the Portuguese coaches are very smart , in my opinion are the best in the world tactical level . The Portuguese coach can do equilibria depending on the tactics of the other team , but we know that we are a strong team , which dismantles many defensive strategies designed well, the quality of the team and individual. Tomorrow [ Sunday ] we played against a young coach who will be a great coach. "

The coach of Académica , Sérgio Conceição : " If pontuarmos have reached our goal of 30 points . We want to continue the good results . We have to be at a high level , not only defensively . When we attack , we have to be very objective and pragmatic , and be attentive to this moment , because if Benfica recovers the ball at that time , the Master Jesus kickback can be fatal . '

absences

Benfica : nothing to report

Academic : Ivanildo (injured )

History clashes

The balance is clearly embodied beings . The Academic only beat Benfica at Luz on four occasions . But it is also true that after breaking fasting for more than 50 years , managed to do it with some frequency . Direct confrontation can see here.

VALENCIA - VILLARREAL Tips @ 1

Roughly 60km separate El Madrigal and Mestalla.

Exactly 9 points separate Valencia and Villarreal with 10 matches left in the season.

No one knows exactly how many more millions in debt Valencia is in compared to Villarreal.

And if you take a look at saturday's Super Deporte, Villarreal apparently dont have a chance of going to Turin (venue of the final of this year's Europa League)

We have to move past last week's disappointment. As deflating as the draw seemed, there were a few positives. The return of Cani to the starting line-up is probably the biggest of them.

Return of Cani

Cani looked good and seemed to play within himself, understandable after such a long injury layoff. His return to the lineup should open the game for Giovani Dos Santos more than it was in the past month or so. With Oliver Torres likely to start again, offensively we look close to our full strength. That Philippe Senderos is hailed as savior of sorts underlines how inconsistent and bad they have been all season.

Back Problems

While our front 4 seems ok, our back four is a cause for concern. With the non-availability of Gabriel Paulista it looks like it is going to be Dorado-Musacchio in the heart of the defence. We could do a lot worse than this pairing but Dorado is made of fine bone china. Our most dependable and consistent starter in the back, Mario Gaspart will miss his first La Liga minutes due to a small injury. Amazing to know that he played all the minutes of all the 28 matches so far. I expect Pantic to play at RB.

Opponent and Tactics

This is a derby game. This is the last chance for Valencia to catch us for the Europa League spot. There is no doubt they will come out flying with a lot of energy. The crowd will be behind them (at least until the first signs that we are up for the fight). We need to be prepared and ready for an intense beginning and be able to withstand a lot of pressure.

Dani Parejo, Paco Alcacer, Eduardo Vargas, Jonas & Co can be very dangerous if you give them time and space on the ball. Like us, their weakest link is their defense. Senderos, probably one of their best defenders since they got him in the January transfer window, is out for this match.

I expect this to be a very open game in the first half. If we keep the score level or even get ahead by halftime, we will have a good chance to win the match. Our recent trips to Mestalla havent been good memories but we have won there in the past.

Squads and Lineups

Valencia 18

Alves, Guaita, Joao, Barragán, Víctor Ruiz, Vezo, Mathieu, Bernat, Keita, Javi Fuego, Oriol, Parejo, Fede, Michel,

Vinícius, Jonas, Vargas, Alcácer
Villarreal 18

Porteros: Asenjo y Juan Carlos, Musacchio, Jaume Costa, Dorado, Jokic y Pantic, Bruno, Cani, Trigueros,

Óliver Torres,Aquino, Tomás Pina y Moi Gómez, Giovani, Uche, Perbet y Jonathan Pereira
Valencia likely XI - 4-2-3-1

Alves:Joao Pereira - Ruiz - Mathieu - Bernat; Parejo - Keita ; Vargas - Alcacer - Fede - Jonas
Villarreal likely XI 4-4-2

Asenjo; Pantic - Dorado - Musacchio - Costa ; Oliver - Bruno - Pina - Cani ; Gio - Uche

LEVERKUSEN - HOFFENHEIM Tips @ 1

Leverkusen - Exacting their revenge for Matchday 9’s ‘phantom goal’ will be at the forefront of 1899 Hoffenheim’s minds when they travel to take on Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Sunday evening (kick-off 16:30 GMT/17:30 CET).Stefan Kießling’s winning goal, which somehow found the smallest of rips in the side-netting but was allowed to stand, underlined Bayer 04’s push for a spot in the top two at the time, but their form since the turn of the year has seen them slip into fourth place with just a three-point cushion over the chasing pack in the race for the UEFA Champions League spots.
Hyypiä 'ready to go full tilt'

Leverkusen have picked up just seven points from a possible 30 in recent weeks and now face three potentially pivotal fixtures in quick succession. Fortunately for the Werkself it begins with a visit of 1899, against whom they’ve won ten of their previous eleven encounters. “We’re desperate to get back to winning ways against Hoffenheim,” said Lars Bender. “It could be difficult for us. We just need to do everything to make sure we pick up all three points at home.”

Head coach Sami Hyypiä is confident his side have put the recent setbacks behind them after “knuckling down and working hard” in training during the week. “We’re all really looking forward to the game,” explained the former Finnish international, who could welcome Ömer Toprak back into his starting line-up on Sunday. “Physically and mentally we’re definitely ready to go full tilt for 90 minutes and fight for the win. We need the right mix of relaxation and absolute commitment, but we also need to make sure we don't stretch ourselves.”
No fear for 1899

Poor form or otherwise, Hoffenheim head coach Markus Gisdol believes “Leverkusen can’t be judged on recent results” and was also was quick to underline that the controversy surrounding their Matchday 9 encounter would have little bearing this weekend. “That game is in the back of our minds, which is why it would be great to get a positive result, but that's as far as it goes,” said the 44-year-old. “This goal will always be a one-off in the Bundesliga. Processing it was difficult and I don’t want to experience it again.”

Though his side have only collected one point from a possible 33 against Leverkusen, Gisdol claims 1899 “aren’t afraid” of their hosts. David Abraham remains the only absentee for the Sinsheim side to contend with, but injuries are far from Hoffenheim’s biggest problem. “We’ve scored over 50 goals but we’ve also conceded more than 50,” Sejad Salihovic told bayer04.de. “Sometimes we get the balance between attack and defence right and sometimes we don’t. We need to be more solid.”

Possible line-ups:

Leverkusen: Leno - Hilbert, Toprak, Spahic, Boenisch - L. Bender, Rolfes, Can - Sam, Kießling, Son

Hoffenheim: Casteels - F. Johnson, Süle, Vestergaard, Beck - Rudy, Polanski, Salihovic - Roberto Firmino - Volland, Modeste

Toulouse vs Evian Thonon Gaillard Tips @ 1

Lille’s target is a Champions League spot - Kjaer

The Denmark international is keen that Rene Girard's side close out an impressive Ligue 1 campaign by finishing in the top three

Lille centre-back Simon Kjaer has indicated that the club’s aim this season is to finish third in Ligue 1, which would mean a potential place in the Champions League next season.

The Stade Pierre-Mauroy outfit are currently embroiled in an exciting battle with Saint-Etienne and Olympique Lyonnais for a top-three place behind Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco, and the Denmark international is confident in his team’s chances.

“We are definitely going for third place in Ligue 1 and the qualification rounds for the Champions League,” the centre-back told Goal.

“That's our target, in my opinion. We know that other big and strong clubs are gunning for the same objective, like St. Etienne, Lyon and Marseille.”

The former Roma stopper, 24, believes the current stage of the season could be crucial and that a strong few weeks could give them the platform they need to take the bottom step on the podium.

A 2-0 win over Montpellier last weekend was a positive step, but now the Dane is setting his sights on three points against Nantes on Saturday.

“We see this part of the season as a bit of a four-match phase, from which we could end up being in a very favourable position,” he added.

“We started by winning the first game last week, and now we need to beat Nantes. Then we go to a big game in Monaco, and finally we have Guingamp at home, which must be another three points if we want to achieve our goal.

“The intriguing part is that our competitors for third also meet each other and the two top teams in this phase so, in the best scenario, it could be looking really good for us in two weeks’ time.”

Having enjoyed a strong campaign so far, Kjaer is confident Rene Girard’s side will see the term out on a positive note.

“We have an exceptional atmosphere at LOSC, and there is a feeling that we have had a great season so far, but now we really want to bring it home,” he indicated.

“We are third in the league right now, in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France, we have the best defence with 17 clean sheets in 26 games, and we have won 10 of our 14 home games in front of our great supporters in our fantastic stadium.”

Valenciennes vs Ajaccio Tips @ 1

Les équipes probables Valenciennes : Novaes - Mater, Kagelmacher (cap), Ciss, Nery - M.Dossevi, Da Silva, T.Doumbia, Masuaku - Waris, Pujol Ajaccio : Ochoa - Mostefa (cap), Nadeau, Perozo, Ait-Yahia, S.Diarra - R.Faty - Lasne, Cavalli (cap), B.André - Tallo Les groupes Valenciennes : Novaes, Penneteau - Ciss, Kagelmacher, Lala, Masuaku, Mater, Nery - Da Silva, M.Dossevi, Doumbia, Ducourtioux, Enza-Yamissi, Houri, Melikson – Le Tallec, Pujol, Waris

Salzburg vs Basel Tips @ 1

Salzburg - Basel Preview: Visitors out to shock in-form Austrians

Red Bull Salzburg take the slight upper hand into their Europa League last-16 second-leg clash at home with Basel.

The Austrian outfit settled for a 0-0 stalemate in their away leg in Switzerland and hold a perfect record at home in the Europa League this season.
The draw at Basel halted Salzburg's 16-match winning streak in all competitions, although Roger Schmidt's men bounced back with a 5-0 win over Wolfsberger AC in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Similarly, Basel enjoyed a 5-0 league win over Aarau to find their feet after the home stalemate.

Salzburg's form at home extends beyond their five wins in the tournament this season, as they have been beaten just once at their Red Bull Arena fortress since August 2012.

They have won 14 in succession at home, including European wins over Zalgiris (5-0), Elfsborg (4-0), Standard Liege (2-1), Esbjerg (3-0) and Ajax (3-1).

Conversely, Basel have not won an away fixture in the Europa League in their past 10 outings in the second-tier continental competition, but they travel to Austria in the knowledge a score draw would see them progress to the quarter-finals.

Murat Yakin's Basel have had success away from home in the Champions League, chalking up wins at Ludogorets and Chelsea earlier this season, before they bowed out in the group stage to join the Europa League knockout rounds.

They began their journey in the last-32, dispatching of Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-0 on aggregate, as they look to at least emulate their semi-final appearance from the previous campaign.

It will be a tough task against home-town favourites Salzburg, though, who have been the highest scoring side in the competition this term with 21 goals.

Firing in a third of those has been tournament top-scorer Jonatan Soriano, who has recently had to refute suggestions he was Salzburg's equivalent of Lionel Messi.

Salzburg's Kevin Kampl and Alan are tied for the most assists, with four apiece.
